This instruction manual outlines how clients can store their biometric data through authentication using the Add Biometric Details Shortcode.
How to Use the Add Biometric Details Shortcode #
1. Copy the Shortcode #
- Start by logging into your WordPress admin page and:
- Navigate To WooCommerce Biometric Login → Configuration.
- On the configuration page, look for the Add Biometric Details Shortcode field (
[ddwcbl_add_biometric_details_shortcode]by default) and copy it, as you will need it in the following steps.
2. Insert the Shortcode On Your Website #
- Now copy the shortcode and insert it into any page, post, or widget where you want your customer to add his/her biometric preview.
- It can be set up either on a separate page for biometric registration or on the My Account page so customers can access and change their biometric information.
- If you are placing it in a widget, go into Sidebars and Footer in Appearance → Widgets and add a Text widget. Paste the shortcode into the widget’s content.
- The changes will appear wherever the shortcode has been placed. The button labeled Add Biometric Details will be visible from here on.
Best Practices for Placement #
- My Account Page: Simply place the shortcode within the My Account page so users can directly find the biometric setup within their account settings.
- Dedicated Registration Page: A page can be created specifically for biometric registration so users can be properly guided on how to configure fingerprint or face recognition systems.
- Sidebar or Footer Areas: The shortcode can be put in sidebars or footers. This makes it available to users no matter what page they are viewing in the store, so they can easily add their biometric details whenever they need to.
- After Login Prompt: the shortcode can be placed in such a way that users are asked to add biometric details after logging in, thereby encouraging them to optimize their login experience.
If you position the Add Biometric Details shortcode correctly, your customers will have easy access to enroll in biometric registration, which will enhance the login process.
